New Grocery Store Opens In Former Price Chopper Location in Colonie

The Capital Region is home to several different grocery stores that we all likely shop at on at least a weekly basis. Market 32 and Hannaford are the main, with other stores like Aldi and Walmart rounding it out. I do wish that the grocery section at out Target locations were as big as some that I've seen in Texas, but baby steps.

While we're all tired of the same old things opening up, now there's something new for us here in the Capital Region. I stumbled on Walworld International Supermarket while on my way into the office this week and it looks like it just officially opened for business.

What is Walworld?

At first I thought that it was some how affiliated with Walmart, but it is not. It is an international supermarket that specializes in Indian and ethnic foods. I for one think this is a great thing because one thing our local stores could use more of in the Capital Region is variety!

As I took a look around I was surprised by how much was being offered in this new store. Deli, pharmacy, and more. You could get the things that you would normally get and then some bonus foods that you can't find at the Market 32 and Hannafords of the world. I saw that the hours they have posted are from 9am-10pm.

I'll say this each time we post about a new local business - get out there and support them. Let them know that we want them here in the Capital Region and that we want them to stay.
