King Frederick II of Prussia is credited with the following quote - “the only, absolute and best friend a man has, in this selfish world, the only one that will not betray or deny him, is his dog”.

I like to think that most humans would agree with that quote. I say most because someone recently did the unthinkable by abandoning 5 puppies at a New York State rest area along Interstate 684. Now New York State Police Troop K are looking for the individual or individuals' responsible.

On Monday May 6th, according to a post on the New York State Police Facebook page, 6 puppies were found huddled together in a container at a rest area off of Interstate 684 in Bedford, New York. Following an investigation it appears these precious pups have been abandoned and left behind.

Take a look at the puppy picture below and you will see 5 scared little guys (Pitbull mix?) standing in the filth of the container they were placed in. They look wet, tired and weary.

New York State Troopers are now teaming up with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPAC) and seeking your help in finding those that are responsible for abandoning these 5 puppies. Should you have ANY information please contact the New York State Police at 914-769-2600. Please reference case number NY2400213717.

On a brighter side of this story the 5 puppies have received medical attention and are being well cared for until they find their forever homes. A big thanks to Special Needs Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Northeast (SNARR) and Adopt-a-Dog for their care of the doggos.
