90’s Rockers Tonic to Play Albany July 4th Event
90's rockers Tonic are set to be part of the New York State 4th of July Celebration at Empire State Plaza in Albany on July 4. The Unites States Heritage for America Band will also be performing. Event runs from 3-10pm.
The yearly July 4th event presented by Price chopper and Market 32 started in 1976 with our country's bicentennial celebrating and draws over 20,000 people each year to Empire Plaza for live music, food and craft vendors, and kids activities followed by a massive fireworks display. Rock band Tonic has had six top 10 singles and sold over 40 million records with multiple Grammy nominations and hit songs like "If You Could Only See" and You Wanted More". This will be a fun family event, and a great way to spend the July 4th holiday. For more info check out the Summer at the Plaza website here.
Check out one of my favorite Tonic songs below. "Open Up Your Eyes" was all over the radio in the summer of 1996 and it brings me back to the time that I went down to Florida for Spring Break. Good times!
