When we learned that Sears and Kmart stores would be closing around the country in 2012 we couldn't help but wonder if we would be seeing our Albany branches close down.  The answer is no, they won't be one of the casualties of the closings.  At least not yet anyway.

A list of 79 stores has come out with Florida being hit the hardest with 11 Sears and Kmart stores closing around their state.  Next would be Michigan, Georgia and Ohio which will each see six stores close.  Unfortunately with those 79 stores closing that will leave a lot of people without jobs.  They say that each Sears and Kmart store employs anywhere between 40 and 80 people.  New York as a State will not be seeing any closings.
