After a very disappointing end of the year the company that owns and operates Sears and Kmart will be closing down between 100 and 120 of the famous stores.

It has been a rough couple of years for retailers, but it looks like two of the most familiar chains will be losing 100 or more stores around the country.  CBS 6 reports this morning that after low earning in the last quarter they have decided to close the stores to make some money and stop the bleeding.

No word yet as to whether or not the Albany based Kmart on Central ave will be a casualty or if the Sears in Colonie Center will close, but it's entirely possible.  They are blaming Kmarts low numbers on the fact that less people are using layaway these days.
