You can have your very own seat at the newly renovated Egg in Albany.

The iconic performing arts center, The Egg, at Albany's Empire State Plaza is going through an improvement project that is expected to modernize and enhance the venue. When the project is complete you could have your name on an audience seat for the next decade. How cool is that?

According to a press release, The Egg is undergoing renovations to include replacing seats and carpeting. There will be improvements to accessibility to offer more seating sections and restrooms in each theater. Lighting will be upgraded to a state-of-the-art, fully automated LED system.

Now the Egg has introduced an inaugural Seat Naming Campaign giving you the chance to have a plaque with your personalized engraving on a brand new seat. Donors giving $1,000 or $500 may “name” a seat with a personalized message engraved onto a plaque, mounted on the armrest of their selected seat in either theatre, Kitty Carlisle Hart Theatre or Lewis A. Swyer Theatre.

Plaques will remain in place for 10 or 5 years unless renewed. Your inscription can honor someone special, mark a milestone or favorite performance, share an inspiring quote, or offer words that echo your love for the arts.

Your seat naming donation does not include tickets to performances or a guarantee of usage of that particular seat. Learn more about The Egg's Seat Naming Campaign HERE. No shows will be scheduled during construction which runs from July 2025 to early 2026.
