As I travel around the Albany area searching for great diners, I find myself at one of the best in the area.  The Alexis Diner in Troy, NY.

When I was going to Hudson Valley Community College, The Alexis Diner was a place that my friends and I frequented quite often.  It's been a while since I have been in college, and though it's not far away, it had been a long time since I hit up this great local spot.

So when you wake up on the weekends and want a great breakfast, you have to hit up Alexis'.  Not only is the food good, but the staff is so friendly you'll feel like you're eating a family dinner.  They aren't just breakfast though.  You can hit it up Monday through Sunday between the hours 7a and 10p. That's plenty of time to stuff your face.

Personally, I find it hard not to order breakfast when I'm at a diner.  They just so happen to make one of my favorites at the Alexis.  I'm talking about the Greek omelet of course.  One rule to live by, feta makes it betta'.  Put that together with some toast, home fries and sausage, and I am one full, and happy customer.  Another perk of going here to eat, they give you a BIG mug of coffee.  No little tiny cup you have to constantly refill, it's the big mug like you drink from at home, and they'll be happy to refill it for you.

Local people, local flavor, and a great atmosphere.  If you haven't hit up the Alexis Diner in Troy, then do yourself a favor and check it out.
