
Arrests Made In Capital Region! Was Your Catalytic Converter Stolen?
There is a trend taking place over the last couple of years. This has nothing to do with a social media influencer or your favorite movie stars and celebrities. This latest trend is criminal in nature and has been spreading all through out New York State.
According to AAA, thieves are stealing catalytic converters from vehicles and cashing them in for as much as $1,000 each. It's the platinum, palladium and rhodium metals that these criminals are after. Recently a rash of catalytic converter thefts were reported in Clifton Park and Halfmoon. If you were one of the victims you will be happy to know that police have made arrests.

New York State Police out of Latham report that, following multiple complaints in October, their investigation has lead them to arrest the following suspects, 47-year-old Penny Richards of Ballston Spa and 42-year-old Trever Murphy, also of Ballston Spa.
Richards and Murphy were arrested and transported to State Ppolice Clifton Park for processing on November 16th. They were arraigned at the Halfmoon Town Court and returned to the Saratoga County Correctional facility where they are being held on additional charges.
