Baby Falcons Welcomed to NY! Watch As Eggs Hatch Atop Cuomo Bridge!
The Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge is one of the famous landmarks of the great state of New York. Growing up I knew it as the Tappan Zee Bridge and that name is difficult to shake. Maybe in the near future we will refer to it as Falcon Bridge?
Near the very top of the bridge, spanning the Hudson River from Tarrytown to Nyack, rests a box which has become home to for a pair of falcons. The 2 "love birds" are now parents and you can watch their eggs hatching live via the Falcon Webcam.

The nest box was installed atop the bridge for the pair of endangered peregrine falcons. Now they may need a bigger box! According to patch.com, the falcons have been busy preparing for a new family as the female laid a total of 4 eggs one month ago.
According to Britannica.com, the Peregrine Falcon is not only the fastest bird in the world it is the fastest animal in the world. When this bird dives for prey it can reach nearly 200 miles per hour!
The black and white picture above was snapped around 1am on Tuesday April 26th. At that point no more than 2 of the 4 eggs had been hatched.
By 7am mom was getting restless.
By 98am dad came around to check in on the events of the day.
By 10am it appeared that 3 of the 4 eggs have hatched!
I'm no expert but the white fluffy area appear to be the chicks while there looks to be 1 more brown egg left to hatch. Watch the activity on the Falcon Webcam HERE.
