Bloody Mary Mix From New York Recalled Over ‘Serious Life Threatening Allergic Reaction’
If you have Bloody Mary Mix in your home bar you may want to check to be sure it doesn't contain any unlabeled allergens that could be dangerous to consume.
This is the time of year that many of us are having gatherings at our homes and playing host the a number of different events. Making sure that your guests have their drink of choice is one way to be sure to be a good host, but if those drinks contain something they're allergic to you could be in a world of trouble.
Right now there is a recall here in New York State from Borsari Food Co who make their Bloody Mary Mix. It is made in Jamestown, NY.
According to the FDA:
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to fish (anchovy), or soy that are not declared on the label run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
These bottles of Bloody Mary Mix were distributed within 100 miles of the Jamestown factory.
The product is sold in a clear plastic 32 oz. bottle with a black label with “Bloody Mary Mix” in large block letters. The UPC code is 815893000101.
So far no illnesses have been reported. This was discovered during an inspection being done by the NYS Department of Agriculture.
Borsari is encouraging anyone who may be concerned with this allergy issue to return the product. As of right now they've pulled the product from their website.
