Rangers Broke Up 100-person Underage Party Across Two State Forests
Approximately 100 young people were so determined to keep their party going they changed locations once authorities found about the first location. When the new location was discovered they moved back to the original spot. One of the problems is they were partying on New York State property.
I don't know about you but when my friends and I were younger we had certain party locations because, if mom and dad were home, we couldn't have it in the backyard. We'd head to a hidden field, dry dam, anywhere out of the way. I don't think we ever set up on state property though.

In the early morning hours of Saturday August 15th, according to a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) press release, one Forest Ranger and New York State Police prevented a large underage drinking party at Vandermark State Forest.
Not long after that, officials caught wind that the party had moved to Bully Hill State Forest. When officers arrived, they found around 100 young people. As the crowd dispersed, Allegany County EMS and Almond Ambulance responded to one medical emergency. The individual that was treated for a medical emergency was also cited for illegal drug possession.

While Rangers were extinguishing a bonfire at Bully Hill State Forest, they received a report the group had gone back to Vandermark State Forest. Two New York State Troopers broke up the party once and for all.
Keep in mind, you may have to fight for the right to party but not on state property. The following actions are prohibited on State lands:
- Possessing alcohol when under the age of 21
- Littering
- Lighting a fire on a road or parking area
- Organizing or attending an event of 20 or more people without a permit
