Bow Tie Cinemas in Saratoga Sold, Changes Coming
At the end of the day on Sunday, April 17th, Bow Tie Cinemas on Railroad Avenue in Saratoga will close its doors and remain closed for about a week. Another movie firm, which has been buying up Bow Ties in other states across the country, will take over the location.
When the Theater reopens at the end of the month, there will be new signage, some concession renovations, and a new name.
With a target opening date of April 29, the cinemas will be rebranded as 'AMC Saratoga Springs 11'. Some of the changes movie goers should expect include a new 100 flavor Coke fountain with free refills, a newly rebranded box office, and a switch to the AMC App to purchase tickets, since the Bow Tie app will no longer be relevant at that location.
This cinema was one of the first in the state to be granted a permit to serve wine and beer, that will continue, although AMC will do it under it's own bar brand called 'MacGuffins'. The theater also plans on introducing it's 'Theater Fare' food menu, consisting of hot pretzels, flatbread pizza, and gourmet popcorn.
This will be the first AMC theater in the Capital Region. There is one other Bow Tie Cinema, that's Movieland 6 located on State Street in Schenectady.
AMC says it plans to keep all current staff, the closing at the Saratoga location will be brief temporary as some of the branding changes are made. Movie fans with a Bow Tie loyalty card can have their points carried over to AMC and Bow Tie gift certificate holders can still have them honored at former Bow Tie locations. They also say there should not be any significant changes to ticket prices.
