If you're going to the Saratoga County Fair this weekend I recommend you drop by Brendan's Lemonade Stand outside gate one. I stopped on Wednesday when I was broadcasting live from the fair and got a refreshing pink lemonade. Was is the best lemonade I've ever had? No, but it hit the spot on a warm afternoon and more importantly Brandon's raising money to fight childhood cancers. A fight that I'm very passionate about since serving on the board of directors of a childhood leukemia charity for the last two years..

If Brandon's Lemonade Stand sound familiar that's because he was all over the news last year after the 8 year-old had his lemonade stand shut down because he didn't have the proper permit. Booo! Senator Jim Tedisco proposed a bill called Brendan's Lemon-Aid Law aimed at keeping child-run lemonade stands open. Unfortunately, it didn't pass, but according to WRGB TV 6 the Department of Health has said they aren't enforcing permits on children's lemonade stands anymore. So, when you're at the fair this weekend look for Brandon's Lemonade Stand, buy a cup and help support the fight against childhood cancer. All the money raised will go to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation that helps fight childhood cancer one cup at a time.
