The Summer concert season at SPAC got underway last week and one of the artists that helped kick it off was the legendary Robert Plant. Although it's been nearly 15 years since fronting Led Zeppelin, many fans in attendance on Friday were hoping to hear at least a couple of Zeppelin tunes before the night was through. They were not disappointed.

If getting that wish granted was pretty exciting imagine running into Plant in a Capital Region store!

The Robert Plant and Alison Krauss show Friday night at Saratoga Performing Arts Center was the second date on the "Raise the Roof Tour", which kicked off Wednesday in Syracuse. If you have ever wondered how rock stars spend the hours leading up to a show, I can tell you that Plant spent some of his time Friday exploring a local music store.

According to the Post Star, Robert Plant showed up at Sweet Side Records on Curran Lane in Glens Falls. Co-owners Ed Martuscello and Pat Daley stated that Plant came in browsed, bought and left. Keep an eye out. You never know who you could run into.

As for the show, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss beautifully navigated through a 20 song set that featured songs by the Everly Brothers, Benny Spellman and Led Zeppelin, to name a few.

The Led Zeppelin originals that they performed were "Rock and Roll" and "The Battle of Evermore". Plant and Krauss also covered "Please Read the Letter" which is a Page/Plant song from 1998 and "When the Levee Breaks" which Zeppelin reworked for their 4th album.
