This Capital Region Pizzeria To Host Stickball Tournament To Benefit Homeless Children
Since 1951 the family and crew at DeFazio's Pizzeria in Troy have been making some of the most delicious wood-fired pizza and homemade pasta in the nation. Their Italian Hangover Cake had Barstool's Dave Portnoy serving up a score of 9.4 as a bonus review on One Bite Pizza Rankings.
Today we are talking about more than just food, we are talking about music, food and stickball! On Sunday June 8th DeFazio's will host the Sal Montanino First Responders Stickball Challenge to benefit homeless children. Here's how you can help.

For over 20 years, DeFazio's Imports has held Troy’s Annual Stickball Tournament to raise funds for Joseph’s House & Shelter, gather essential pantry items and provisions for homeless families, and raise awareness of child homelessness.
This year’s event has been named in honor of the late Sal Montanino, who uplifted generations of Troy youth as a coach and mentor and inspired others through his leadership in the community.
Here are some of the items needed:
- Diapers, size 3 and up
- New sippy cups
- Twin sheet sets
- Socks, sneakers
- New kids books, coloring book, crayons.

This year's Stickball Challenge will take place on Sunday June 8th starting at 12 Noon outside of DeFazio's 216 between Liberty and Washington Street in Troy.
This year, we pay tribute to our beloved friend, Sal Montanino, who passed away in September. Sal was a pillar of strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication. We hope you’ll join us for an afternoon filled with live music from DJ Trumaster, delicious food, and great company, all to benefit a meaningful cause that supports our community, just as Sal always did! - DeFazio's
