All of us in the Capital Region realize just how quickly the weather can change. Take the last couple of weeks as an example. One day we were enjoying the red, yellow and orange of the fall foliage and the very next day the trees and lawns had been painted with a white coat of snow and the temperature struggles to reach 40. The snow has left us this week and we are expecting highs in the low 60's with plenty of sunshine.

As we transition from Fall to Winter I am hopeful that we keep our neighbors in mind. Once again this year the "Cash for Coats" drive will help keep our kids warm and protected from the elements, thanks to the City of Albany, United Way of the Greater Capital Region and the people and places around the Capital Region. B. Lodge & Co., Albany's oldest department store, are a huge contributor to the "Cash for Coats" campaign by offering NEW coats, hats and gloves at cost. This gives organizers the ability to purchase even more items with your donations.

"Cash for Coats" is a community event. So how can you help the students in the Albany City School District? You may make a one time or recurring donation at www.albanyevents.org or text coats20 to 41444. The deadline is Monday November 16, 2020.

Don't be fooled by the mild temperatures this week. The cold will settle in soon enough and our Capital Region kids need your help. Remember the deadline is Monday November 16th so head to www.albanyevents.org or text coats20 to 41444. Thank you!
