Charlie Sheen Booed Off Stage

Is Charlie Sheen’s “WINNING” streak officially over? Based on reports from the first live show of his ‘Violent Torpedo of Truth / Defeat Is Not an Option’ tour, the answer is unanimously yes.

Sheen failed to win over the crowd at Detroit’s Fox Theater Saturday night, eliciting boos, hecklers and even walkouts, according to live updates from EW.com’s James Hibberd, who referred to the show as an “unmitigated disaster.”

So what exactly happened on stage? After the opening act (a comedian) was booed off the stage, Hibberd says a mock iPhone commercial played, advertising the appropriately titled “MaSheen.” What followed were a number of violent film clips, including scenes from ‘Taxi Driver,’ ‘Platoon’ and ‘Apocalypse Now’ (which incidentally stars Sheen’s father, Martin), a makeout session between Sheen’s live-in “goddesses” and a bit in which Sheen removed his ‘Two and a Half Men’-esque sports shirt and had his goddesses burn it backstage (on video).

From there, Sheen took to a podium to address the audience with a speech that included such lines as “I am finally here to identify and train the Vatican assassin locked inside each and every one of you” and “I’m a giant and leaky bag of mayhem.”

A bit later in the show, Hibberd said that Sheen lost the crowd when he started telling stories about crack. “I figured Detroit was a good place to tell some crack stories,” Sheen quipped, which prompted boos from the audience.

Walkouts began about halfway through the show and continued until the end, according to the report.

So what do you do when people don't like what you have brought to the table?  You try it again.  Sheen said he stayed up until 4:30am that night reworking his entire show.  When he played Chicago the following night he blew the roof off the place.  They loved him!  Can you believe that?  The Chicago crowd was even chanting "Detroit Sucks!" over and over.   Apparently all Sheen needed to do to get people to like him was talk about his life, instead of just spewing insane babble.  For more on what happened at the Chicago show click here.
