Local Children Injured After Bounce House Takes Flight
A bounce house is usually seen as a good time for children to jump around and let loose. Unfortunately for three kids in South Glens Falls, it was the scene of an accident that left two in serious condition.
Around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, according to police, a sudden gust of wind sent a bounce house into the air. The attraction reached heights of up 20 feet in the air.
Three were injured in the process. A 6-year-old boy was found in the street and a 5-year-old boy was found in a nearby apartment complex. A 10-year-old girl was injured but she was not inside the attraction when it went airborne. The boys were flown to Albany Medical Center where, as of Tuesday, one of the boys was in an induced coma.
According to witnesses, the bounce house was properly staked into the ground. However, it was reported that the wind gust that took the house airborne was in the range of 20 MPH.
Police say they will investigate further.
