In case you were one of the what seems like many in the city of Albany that got to stay home today, some snow fell from the sky. Actually, a bunch of snow, probably the most snow we have had fall in the last couple of years here.

The majority of the roads in the Capital Region were pretty sketch city most of the day because I can only assume the plows were waiting until the snow stopped falling to get started. You know instead of trying to get ahead of the storm. Regardless, now some clean up has to happen.

Since parking tends to be a struggle in the city in general I've got to imagine it makes plowing the streets even tougher. So, the City of Albany has declared a Snow Emergency and some parking restrictions will now apply for the next couple of days.

According to the TU:

The snow emergency begins at 8 p.m. {tonight} Thursday , at which time all normal parking rules and regulations will be temporarily suspended.

During the first 24 hours, all vehicles must be parked on the even-numbered side of the street.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, all vehicles must be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street for the next 24-hour period.

Additional parking in Albany will be available during the snow emergency.

It's super important that you are aware of the new restrictions or you run the risk of being ticketed or worse towed!
