Colonie Police Warning Residents to Lock Doors
Apparently, a suspicious looking man has been spotted attempting to walk right into peoples homes.
A resident that lives off Miller Road in Colonie reported to police that a suspicious man came to his home and tried to open his back door! According to WNYT Colonie Police department investigated the situation and said that it appears the man tried to enter and several different homes in the area but they don't think he managed to gain access to any of them.
I could not imagine being home and hearing someone trying to get into my house! Or coming home and finding someone inside. I have actually been warned at a couple of different residences by police to make sure to keep your doors locked especially during these cold winter months. They say not only to prevent theft but sometimes when its this cold out vagrants try to find open doors to seek shelter and warmth.
So police are reminding residents to lock your doors and to be vigilant.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, about six feet tall, with a thin build, blue jacket with fur near the collar and a triangle emblem on the sleeve, dark hood and black pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call Colonie Police at (518) 783-2744 or submit an anonymous tip to Capital Region Crime Stoppers.
