Did You Know, A President Died In The Capital Region?
Many President's have indeed visited the area, a few even stayed here for a short time. But this former President actually resided here in his dying days. Find out who and where.
As a kid, I wanted to know everything about all of the former presidents, I love the history and even scandal behind a lot of them. It is just super interesting. This is leading me in my adult life to be a history buff. This also is leading me to watch a lot of presidential documentaries. It turns out, our 18th President actually died in the Capital Region.
That President is also the face of the $50 dollar bill as well, Ulysses S. Grant.
The photo above is actually of Grant working on his memoirs just days before he passed away from cancer at a cottage in Wilton in 1885.
Every curious about maybe spending a day checking out where President Grant actually spent his final days? Check out where he called home by clicking this link.
