Don’t Forget Dad This Weekend, Father’s Day Is This Sunday

Need some last minute Father's Day suggestions ... we've got you.

I was just having a conversation with a co-worker about Father's Day gift ideas and she mentioned that she was just reading an article stating that most dads feel like they kind of get the shaft on Father's day, at least compared to how much moms get pampered and showered with gifts on Mother's Day. So I thought this would be a good opportunity to put out a little reminder to make sure that you take care of dad this Father's Day (which just so happens to be Sunday).

If you are looking for some sort of idea for your dad this Father's Day may I make a suggestion? Participate in some sort of experience with dad this year. I don't mean to get too personal here but, I lost my father last year and the experiences and they time we got to spend together are definitely the things I cherish most. Although I am lucky enough to have an amazing step father still in my life he happens to live on the other side of the country, so I have come to appreciate those times with him so much more.

That being said, it just so happens that the Capital Region is a pretty amazing place to share an experience with your dad. Here are just a  few things I can think of off the top of my head that I would ask my dad to do if he were here. You know, in case you need a little inspiration.

• Hike the Adirondacks
• Go fishing
• Dinner and Drinks
• Grab tickets to a show (the live music in this town is so abundant there are plenty of shows to choose from actually Mountain Jam is happening this weekend and there are still tickets available!... • Check out Dad Fest in Washington Park this Sunday (music, food, drinks, free fun!)
• Take Dad Ziplining (ADK Eagle Flyer is actually has an offer for dads to Zipline free on Father's Day)
