Have you ever wanted to go back in time? There is a place here in New York State where you will feel like you have traveled to the late 1800's and early 1900's all at once. A place where you can relax, explore and take a lantern-lit sleigh ride.
These sleigh rides are the only kerosene lantern-lit sleigh rides in the Adirondacks! You will go dashing through the snow in a 2-horse open sleigh, taking in the beauty of Lake Clear, New York before ending up at a speakeasy. Take a look at the pictures below.
The Lake Clear Lodge & Retreat is set on 25-acres and features a main lodge which was built in 1886. This healing destination also has a Stagecoach dining room and a 1920's speakeasy, which you will need a password in order to enter.
You might feel as if you are in a scene from Dickens' A Christmas Carol as you board a beautiful wooden sleigh at a local farm before entering the Adirondacks' woodlands for a lantern-lit trail ride. Your destination is the Lake Clear Lodge where you can enjoy a 3-course speakeasy dinner.
At Lake Clear Lodge and Retreat you can experience the sleigh ride and speakeasy together or individually. Operating days are every Friday and Saturday Starting December 16th and wrapping up March 11th. There are some additional operating dates along the way. Check their Winter schedule HERE.
Spend the night at Lake Clear Lodge & Retreat, NY State Route 30 in Lake Clear, NY.. You can stay in the lodge, have a lake view suite or enjoy the privacy of your own chalet with fireplace.
