I have celebrated 53 Christmases in my lifetime. There were years where I could not wait to see what Santa brought me and there have been years where I could not wait to see the excitement on my son's face when he saw what Santa brought for him. No matter what the gift, the size or the color, each and every gift sat beneath a real tree.

Our New York home is the first shared with my girlfriend and, as we all know, there is an amount of compromise that comes with living together. I am all for compromise and mutual decision making, right after we get our REAL tree!

It appears that she would prefer an artificial tree as it would be easier to maintain but to her credit she is cool with having a real tree from a Capital Region farm. So, the tradition continues. Now where to find the perfect tree? I did a Google search and found a few that may also help you if you are searching as well. McDonough's Farm in East Greenbush will be open Monday November 23rd thru Wednesday November 25th. They will re-open following the Thanksgiving holiday starting Sunday November 29th from 9a-6p.

Castleton Christmas Trees in Hudson made the decision to close for the 2020 season but they will offer their pre-cut trees at Windy Hill Orchard East in Castleton.
