Flooding Heavily Damages Lake George Resort [PHOTOS]
There were very heavy rains Thursday evening into Friday causing flooding in different parts of the area. Part of the Lake George area wasn't spared, in fact it wreaked havoc on at least one resort.
Lakefront Terrace in Lake George Village sits directly on Lake George and is a popular summer tourist spot. The heavy rains caused some powerful floods that tore up the parking lot of the resort.
Dan Levy from NewsChannel 13 was there to see the damage first hand. As you can tell from the photos, there's a lot of cleanup to do.
The driveway and parking lot were completely destroyed.
The damage went feet below the concrete.
Motel owners said they already have about 70 rooms booked for summer, but this may cause them to have to delay the start of the season.
The motel itself is located across several terraces.

The concrete completely buckled.
Lakefront Terrace owner Ken McGurk and his crew survey the damage.
Just this past Tuesday the motel posted on Facebook a beautiful picture of the resort on the lake encouraging potential guests to book their summer stay.
McGurk tells News 10 they plan on opening for the summer season Memorial Day weekend, but it's going to be tough to fix this much damage:
It’ll be tough to get this fixed before we open for Memorial Day. We’ll try, but it could definitely impact the summer season.
Earlier this year, flooding destroyed the parking lot and several first floor rooms of the Howard Johnson motel in Lake George Village, even trapping a man on top of a truck as the flood waters ran down. Emergency crews had to use a rescue boat to save the man.
