Grow-NY Food and Agriculture Business Competition

Starting in 2019, Grow-NY has hosted an annual competition that focuses on innovation agriculture across Upstate New York.

Eligibility

Applicants must be a registered, formative stage business entity that can enter into the Investment Agreement, and meet two of the following criteria:

  • Less than seven years from date of formal organization
  • Has its first product or service in testing or pilot production
  • Pre-revenue or early revenue
  • Has a leadership team working towards commercialization and profitability.

How the Contest Works

Applicants will be asked to prove their worth to a panel of judges, showing their innovation, teamwork, growth potential and more. Once all applications are submitted, 20 finalists will be chosen to move on to the final round.

Those 20 finalists will be asked to pitch their company to the judges.

The Winners

Judges will compare their application notes with their pitch notes to select a winner. Four of the finalists will receive a $250,000 prize, two finalists will receive a $500,000 prize, and one luck winner will come away with a grand prize total of a Million dollars.

Since the initial Competition seven years ago, the finalists have created more than 325 jobs for Upstate New Yorkers.
