Happy Birthday today (June 15) to former Kansas singer Steve Walsh. He's 67. Other rockers celebrating include Queensryche drummer Scott Rockenfield (55), guitarist Brad Gillis of Night Ranger (61), and singer/guitarist Noddy Holder of Slade (72).

Kansas became popular in the 1970's with albums like Leftoverture and Point of Know Return. The band appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks during the 1970's and 1980's, playing to sold out arenas and stadiums throughout the world. Steve Walsh sang lead on Kansas’ biggest hits including "Carry On Wayward Son", "Point of Know Return", and "Dust in The Wind". The band produced gold and multi-platinum selling albums with "Dust in the Wind" would become a million-selling single. "Carry On Wayward Son" is one of the most played songs of all time on classic rock radio.

Steve Walsh announced his retirement from Kansas after 41 years with the band in 2014. Kansas continues to record and perform live. I've had the chance to catch Kansas live so many times over the years and the band always brings a great live show. Cheers to Steve Walsh on his birthday today!
