Georgia Dad Booked On Murder Charges After Forgetting Son In Car
As a parent, stories like these both infuriate and sadden leaving me asking the most basic of questions. How do you forget your kid in your car, then go work a full day?
33-year-old Marietta, Georgia man Justin Ross Harris is currently booked on cruelty to children and felony murder charges after police say Harris left his 22-month-old son in the back of his car after forgetting to drop him off at daycare.
Apparently, Harris left work at 4 p.m. and noticed his son, unresponsive in the back seat. He pulled over at a local shopping mall and tried to revive the child. Authorities pronounced the child dead at the scene.
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal commented:
it is a very fine line sometimes between neglect and negligence ... and whether that negligence reaches the level of criminal prosecution
I'm still stuck on how one forgets a two-year-old in the back seat of a car!? Never mind that. How do you forget your child, period?
