It’s hard to believe this year’s Great New York State Fair is already almost over. Though everybody loves the food, rides, and exhibits, the anticipation for this year’s concert lineup was absolutely giant. And why not? Six decades worth of icons and up-and-comers have been wowing crowds night after night.

Fans of country, rap, rock, R&B, and pop, have been lining up in the tens of thousands for some of the headlining shows. Now one Fair performer can boast a record setting performance.

There have been a few big shows this year – ‘90s R&B favorites TLC had an estimated crowd of around 30,000 for their performance – but none more massive than Nelly. Until last night, the Great New York State Fair concert attendance record was set by A Boogie wit Da Hoodie in 2018 at 40,610.

Last year, Nelly performed to a crowd of 33,700. But this year? Nelly smashed the Great New York State Fair concert attendance record, bringing more than 43,000 fans to Chevy Park, as reported by Syracuse.com.
