
2,000 Mile Weather Warning Includes New York State
As we start a new work week here in New York State, meteorologists are paying attention to what Hurricane Erin will be doing as there could be an impact along the coast that spans over 2,000 miles.
The hot weather seems to be over, for now, for much of New York State. This past weekend, some of us got over two inches of cold rain that helped to drop temperatures and make it more comfortable. But the threat of heavy rain and storm swell along the coast is still a big concern for those who live near the ocean.

According to the forecast and hurricane models, Hurricane Erin will not make landfall but will have a huge impact along the eastern seaboard.
That is a massive stretch of coast! The distance from Florida to that portion of Canada is over 2,000 miles! Be careful swimming or boating ,and be ready for significant changes in waves and surge.
The cold weather is not that far off for us here in Western New York. Lake Erie's water temperature is very warm, and if it stays that way, it could mean a good deal of lake effect snow when the frosty air arrives.
