New 1970s Netflix Thriller Casting Extras Near Upstate New York

A new Netflix/Sony television thriller filming in the Hudson Valley is now casting paid background actors, and both adults and kids are being encouraged to apply.

According to Roman Candle Casting, the new project, titled “The Woods,” will film in Newburgh, Harriman State Park, and surrounding Hudson Valley communities between May and September.

The casting call is being handled by Roman Candle Casting, a well-known New York-based casting company founded in 2009 that has worked on major film and television projects, including The Materialists, Marty Supreme, Nonnas, Monsters and Men, and the Oscar-nominated short Time Freak.

What They're Looking For:

Casting directors are currently seeking adults aged 18 plus as well as kids ages 9 to 16. The production is looking for background actors for non-speaking roles on what’s being described as a new “1970s-style” thriller series for Netflix and Sony.
