New York Is One Of The Best States In America For Night Owls
I have never been a morning person. Sure, I like the quietness of the morning as the sun rises, but given the choice, I'd sleep until 10am every day if I could.
Seems I moved to the right state for that, as New York is one of the best states in America for night owls...

The City (and State) That Never Sleeps
Recently, Coventry Direct released a survey on the sleeping habits of Americans. In it, they determined which states were the best for early risers, and which were the best for late sleepers.

Coventry Direct's Survey on Sleeping Trends
On that list, New York was ranked as the third best state for night owls in America, with about 77.2% of participants stating that they preferred staying up late. 59% claimed they went to bed after midnight on work days, and 72% do the same on weekends.
These are about 20% higher than the average on the survey.
What Does New York Do with This Time?
The survey also took a look what what New Yorkers are doing with that extra time at night. For those in New York City, the answers are likely closer to events, bars, and other social outings.
Outside of the city, however, things look a little more normal. Relaxing and unwinding is the most popular, but people are also partial to watching movies or TV and simply scrolling social media.
Honestly, I think we could all take a page from NYC's book, and get out and about more during the later hours if we're going to be awake anyways.
