A national baking competition has one Capital Region bakery vying for the number one spot.

All Things Gluten Free in Ballston Spa is making waves in a national baking competition called The Greatest Baker.

According to the Greatest Baker website, owner Shannon Welch started the bakery to honor her late father and share her passion for baking with everyone. She’s now in second place in her group and working hard to stay in the running for the top prize.

This contest isn’t judged by a panel of celebrity chefs. Instead, it’s decided by public voting, and that’s where you can help. Each day, you get a free vote you can cast for Shannon by visiting her page on the Greatest Baker site, here.

Votes matter because the bakers who get the most move on to the next round and stay closer to winning the grand prize. You can find her page here, or share that link with friends so they can vote too. Winning would bring her $10,000 and a feature in Bake from Scratch magazine.

Voting is open now through today (Wednesday, January 7th) for this round, so every day counts. You don’t need to pay to vote, but there is an option to make a donation that gives extra votes while also supporting childhood cancer research.

Let's support and vote for All Things Gluten Free in Ballston Spa so Shannon can be crowned the Greatest Baker in the country.
