Blast from the Past

For many in Saratoga County, this feels like a blast from the past.

The Wilton Mall announced this week that its carnival is officially making a comeback June 10th through the 14th in the back parking lot behind the food court, and the event promises classic carnival rides and games.

Not to mention all the fried food your stomach can regret later.

Positive Praise

And if the online reaction is any indication, people seem genuinely excited.

Several commenters called the carnival a major childhood memory, with one person writing, “Omg my childhood is coming back,” while another said they remembered attending all the way back in 2009.

"The carnival is coming back to the Wilton Mall! Happening June 10th to June 14th!! There will be great carnival rides, carnival games, and yummy carnival food. Located in the back parking lot behind the food court." - Wilton Mall

Of course, here in the Capital Region, keyboard comedians will never miss their shot at glory, and the pothole jokes arrived almost immediately.

"Potty" Humor

One Facebook user joked that the mall should “fill those potholes and use them like a dunk tank,” prompting the mall to quickly reply: “The potholes are being fixed!”

Others say the carnival's return is another sign the Wilton Mall is slowly finding new life again after years of uncertainty. Either way, rides, games, funnel cakes, and nostalgia are heading back to Wilton this summer — and honestly, that feels pretty wholesome to me.
