Recently New York State Police asked the public for help locating a missing 59-year-old man from Franklin County. This individual had been missing since September and this week their search came to a sad conclusion.

Troopers had been searching for Brent V. Beach, who was last seen on Sunday September 17th. On the afternoon of Tuesday October 24th Franklin County Adult Services contacted State Police regarding a check the welfare request.

According to a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) press release, Forest Rangers located an ATV on Titusville State Forest. Following an investigation it was determined that this was the same ATV connected to the missing vulnerable adult case.

Following the discovery of the ATV 15 Rangers and 10 volunteers with Search and Rescue of the Northern Adirondacks supported the search effort led by the New York State Police. With the assistance of helicopters and drones the search extended 12-linear-miles.

On Sunday November 12th New York State Police and Forest Rangers spotted a used fire ring along a streambed. On Monday November 13th, Rangers paddled the Hatch Brook and located the 59-year-old subject deceased.

New York is among the States with the highest number of reported missing persons. According to Wise Voter, California leads the way with over 2,000 missing individuals followed by Florida, Texas, Arizona, Washington. New York is 6th with more than 600 missing residents reported.
