After 61 years, the Penn State Board of Trustees decided that Joe Paterno has coached his final game as the Nittany Lions Head Coach effective immediately.  President Graham Spanier is also out after a child sex abuse scandal involving an assistant coach blew up this week.

Paterno had said in a statement that he would retire at the end of the season, but the Board of Trustees met Wednesday night and decided that defensive coordinator Tom Bradley will become interim coach.

The Lions have three games left and the last home game is this weekend vs Nebraska.  Paternon who has been under criticism for not doing more when he was told in 2002 when a graduate assistant saw former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky and the alleged child sex abuse take place.

This is a tragedy,It is one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more.
