Latham & Clifton Park K-Mart To Close In May

Two more local K-marts have been added to the list of those closing.

You may remember just before Christmas last year, the K-mart on Central Ave in Schenectady/Colonie announced that it was closing before the year was out. Now two more stores will join the list of closures.

K-Mart's parent company Sears Holding Communications did not renew their leases at the stores locations in Latham, on Troy-Schenectady Rd, and Clifton Park, on Park Ave.

This is apart of the company attempting to reduce expenses. Liquidation sales will begin at each store starting on February 23.

With the announcement comes upwards of 70 people at each location that will now be joining the unemployment line.
