Local Activists Protest Health Care Bill
Local activists were part of the 30 women who stood in front of the Capital Building in Washington D.C. as a part of Planned Parenthood’s “People’s Filibuster” protest.
Thirty women wore red cloaks and white bonnets inspired by “The Handmaidens Tale” to protest the proposed GOP health care bill. One of the thirty is Jasmine Shea, a prominent local activist who joined DJ Supreme and me on “The Great Debaters” in July of 2016.
Since then Jasmine continues to be an Equal Rights Activist, receiving much recognition for her efforts. In April, she was part of a roundtable discussion with the President of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America to talk about her personal experience as a patient of Planned Parenthood.
