Q1057 Teaming Up With The Regional Food Bank Meet Growing Food Demand
Local food banks, including the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, are expecting a surge in demand over the next few weeks. With school children at home, parents working from home and laid-off workers struggling to put food on the table, the demand could overwhelm the food bank's supplies.
Q105-7 is teaming up with The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in taking proactive steps to protect the neighbors we serve in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
As our region’s leading hunger relief organization, they are providing emergency food to a growing number of people in need – children out of school, seniors who can’t travel to grocery stores, and people unexpectedly out of work and missing paychecks. Thousands of people will be turning to the Food Bank for food assistance as we navigate through this challenging time. Your support is more critical than ever.
Please help keep meals on the table for them by making a donation today.
Every dollar donated can provide enough food for up to 4 meals.
Local food banks rely heavily on volunteers and monetary donations to meet their needs. According to an article in The Times Union, the Food Bank needs extra volunteers and needs at least $120,000 in additional funds to prepare to meet additional demand.
Donations can be made online at regionalfoodbank.net. You can also sign up to be a volunteer at that website too.
