This might be one of the weirdest fast food additions I've ever seen. The Arby's Meat Carrot. It's exactly what it sounds like....a carrot made of meat. Now, I like meat, but carrots not so much. According to the Times Union story, this is an Arby's goof on companies making burgers and other meat out of vegetables.

"Universally, people know we're supposed to eat vegetables every day. But 90 percent of Americans don't eat the recommended amount. So we said if others can make meat out of vegetables, why can't we make vegetables out of meat?"

Basically, since Arby's is known for "the meats" they are bucking the vegan trend in the US. No more meats made from vegetables...now it's vegetables made from meat. Ladies and gentlemen look for the "Marrot" coming soon to a Capitol District Arby's near you!

A few years ago I was invited to Thanksgiving at a friends house. She's vegan so I knew we would have a metric ton of vegetables. What I didn't expect was a turkey as the centerpiece of the meal. Was it a juicy, perfectly roasted butterball? No, it was a freaking turkey made from tofu! My friend told me, "You really can't tell the difference from real turkey." Let me tell you....she was lying! Ever since then I will only eat meat that's made from meat....and veggies made from veggies!

So what do you think about the Marrot? Would you try it? Have you ever had one of those "fake foods" that were actually good?
