Monday, January 8: Tig’s Rock Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (Jan. 8) to Doors guitarist Robby Krieger. He's 72. Also celebrating is singer Mike Reno of Loverboy (63) and in remembrance, David Bowie would have been his 71 today.

Robby Krieger is best known for his work as guitarist for the Doors. The Doors formed out of Los Angeles in 1965 and featured Jim Morrison on vocals, Ray Manzarek on keyboards, Robby Krieger on guitar and John Densmore on drums. Krieger wrote and co-wrote many of the Doors' classic songs like "Light My Fire", "Love Me Two Times", "Touch Me", and "Love Her Madly". He was named one of the greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
