Tony Harnel was born in San Diego, California is best known as the singer of 80’s metal band TNT and known for his exceptionally wide vocal range. Harnell debuted with the band on their album Knights of the New Thunder in 1984. The album entered the billboard charts and the video for “Seven Seas” received heavy rotation on MTV. Their album Tell No Tales in 1987 featured singles “10,000 Lovers (In One)” and “Everyone’s a Star”. The band established a mainstream following and supported Stryper on a sold out U.S. arena tour.

Harnell has recorded several albums and has toured on and off with TNT over the years, recently rejoining the band in 2016. They are currently working on a new album. He’s also been involved with many other projects including his own solo career. He briefly was the frontman for Skid Row in 2015. Cheers to this rockin singer on his birthday today! I've gotten to meet Tony and see him perform several times over the years, but never with TNT. Hoping they book some U.S. dates soon. Tony has always been very cool and humble when I've talked with him. Truly an amazing vocalist. Check out a photo of me with Tony below.
