Murder Attempt In Schenectady’s Central Park! What Went Down at 2am?
When I was a kid my friends and I would spend the entire day riding bikes around town and not returning home until the street lights came on. We weren't in trouble for being gone so long, it was encouraged because those were different times.
Once you hear this story out of Schenectady you won't want to let your kids out of your sight ever again. But this isn't just a warning for kids, this is for everyone.
Schenectady Police Department are reporting an incident that took place in the early morning hours of Tuesday March 8th. This story involves a man, a teenager, blood and a month-long investigation.
On that March morning, around 2:30am, Schenectady police were dispatched to the area of 500 Iroquois Way, which is the area of Central Park. This particular park offers a beautiful setting during the daylight hours with Rose Garden, Music Haven Stage, public pools, tennis courts and a disc golf course. So what was going on at 2:30am?
Schenectady Police were responding to a reported stabbing. Once officers arrived on scene they found an individual sitting on a park bench at the park's Rose Garden. It was quickly determined that the 30-year-old Selkirk man had been stabbed multiple times. The victim was treated on the scene before being taken to Albany Medical Center.

Due to the suspects age, his name will not be released. At this time the teenager is being held at a secure detention center awaiting a future court date.
