NCAA Basketball Tournament To Be Played Without Fans In The Stands
NCAA president Mark Emmert announced today that they have made the decision to play tournament games without fans in the the stands because of concerns about the spread of the coronavirus according to The Times Union.
In a statement from the NCAA only essential personal and limited family attendance will be permitted. The 68-team men's field is scheduled to be announced Sunday, and the 64-team women's field is set to be unveiled Monday. With games starting March 19th this is a huge blow to fans as well as cities like Albany that were scheduled to host games.
In addition to the NCAA Tournament playing games without fans may of the the other conferences are doing the same thing.
