
Why a Routine Traffic Stop Led to Arrests in Guilderland
Three New Jersey residents arrested following a traffic stop on the I-90 Thruway in Guilderland. Why? Troopers find an illegally possessed, loaded, handgun.
You never know who is traveling next to you while traveling the highways and byways of New York State. One car could contain a family heading off on vacation, the next vehicle could have 3 dude cruising with a loaded hand gun and a high-capacity magazine, You never know!

On Sunday October 26th, at approximately 2am, New York State Troopers stopped a vehicle on the I-90 Thruway in Guilderland, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. During the investigation, with the assistance of State Police K9 “Ash”, Troopers located an illegally possessed loaded handgun and an illegally possessed high-capacity magazine.
The vehicle in question was occupied by 25-year-old Saadiq A. King of Atco, New Jersey, 26-year-old Kharie G. Orange-Blakney of Cherry Hill, NJ, 21-year-old Paris J. Taylor of Camden, NJ. The driver was identified as Taylor and the passengers as King and Orange-Blakney.
New York State Police of Latham, with the assistance of Troop T, Albany arrested Saadiq A. King, Kharie G. Orange-Blakney, and Paris J. Taylor each for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree. King and Taylor were also charged with Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
All three individuals were arrested at the scene and transported to State Police Albany for processing. King, Orange-Blakney, and Taylor were arraigned at the Guilderland Town Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or a $75,000 partially secured bond.
