Students are getting ready for more walkouts on Friday, April 20 in the Capital Region and students and a pair of students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are set to join the rally.

According to The Daily Gazette, students in local schools are getting ready for more walkouts this Friday to continue to press for gun control and improved school safety. Rallies are being planned by Niskayuna and Saratoga Springs students, along with other regional districts on a day that will mark the 19th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting. The walkouts are expected to be more politically charged than the March 14 walkouts that honored the lives of the students killed in the February Parkland, Florida school shooting. A pair of students from Marjory Stoneman High School, who sparked a nationwide movement, plan to attend the Albany event after Lilly Hutton, a senior from East Greenbush at Columbia High School tracked down the students via social media. Bethlehem senior Lydia Martell said, "We all wanted to come together as the whole entire Capital District and different schools- to come together as one unified body."

What are your thoughts on the recent student walkouts and the upcoming rally in Albany Friday?
