When it comes to the icons of heavy metal music Judas Priest is always one of the first ones that you name. These legends have been delivering the goods for 50 years and have not slowed down. They bring their incredible show to SPAC on Saturday along with Alice Cooper and Corrosion of Conformity and fans can except it to be good. That's according to Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Richie about a few things before their show on Saturday night. He says he's excited to get back to Saratoga because the last time they played there they had to cut the set short due to lightning. I don't want to point fingers, but when the Metal Gods are rocking there is bound to be some sort of divine intervention.

Faulkner, who has been with the band since 2011, says that he is still amazed every time he's on stage with Priest.

Priest fans have come to expect a certain style with their shows. I asked Richie how he maintains that legacy while also bringing his own style of guitar playing and he says that you have to do it naturally.

You've got to do it naturally. You've gotta do what feels right. There's no premeditated way of doing that. - Richie Faulkner

While Priest is going full steam ahead on their touring Faulkner suffered a serious health problem back in 2021 that resulted in having heart surgery. I asked him what he has to do to remain healthy and if that's on his mind. He said he thankfully doesn't have to do much except for remember to take his meds. He also says Priest has a doctor that travels with them ti help him rehab his right side that has some damage from that incident. Faulkner says he is healthy and doing well. He also adds that you've got to live each day to its fullest.
