There's nothing more synonymous with New York than 'Saturday Night Live' but they haven't always been kind to Upstate New York.

'Saturday Night Live' has produced some of the most memorable skits. You probably quote many of them or know others who do. They've also produced a number of big stars who have gone on star in various movies and television over the years. Plus, many of those stars are native New Yorkers.

While a lot of the focus of the show is national or on New York City, they have paid attention to Upstate New York and even poked fun at the area.

The Capital Region, the Hudson Valley, Central NY, and Western NY have all taken their fair share of punishment from SNL over the years. Who all remembers when they had their fake Albany news station, KCR?

No one is safe when SNL is on their best game. Governors of New York have been trounced a number of times, including former Gov. David Patterson. They also took a shot at our beloved apple picking. How dare they!

It is all in good fun, and if you are offended by any of it, just try lightening up a bit. If you can't laugh at yourself and your surroundings you need to go enjoy a nice cocktail.

As SNL prepares to turn 50, let's take a look at all the times they took a shot at us here in Upstate New York. Not just the Capital Region, but many other spots around the area.
