Snow Moves Into Upstate New York Making a Messy Morning Commute
We will see some snow in the area tonight before turning to a wintery mix.
Just the word no one wants to hear heading into a Monday - snow. But it looks like that is the case for the Capital Region and parts of New England. We will be hit with some snow this evening into tonight. How much will we be seeing here in Upstate New York?
According to the National Weather Service it will just be a light amount of snow, but enough to make a bit of a mess of things for our Monday morning commute.
The wintery mix is the thing we don't love to see. While it means that the snow won't be piling up, it does mean driving conditions will not be the best.
There is a winter weather advisory for areas south of Albany right now, but that storm is moving east and getting ready to leave some snow in the Capital Region. Just mother nature's way of reminding us that she's still here.
Radar loop shows light snow moving from west to east into eastern New York and western New England through this evening. The snow could result in slippery driving conditions, especially on untreated roads.
Of course all this snow and wintery mix happens before we end up seeing temperatures warm up for midweek. We could see temperatures in the 50s by Tuesday here in the Capital Region.
When you live in the Northeast you have to take the good with the bad this time of year. Many are still hoping for that magical white Christmas, which is looking more and more likely.
