A blast of cold air has made the Capital Region a bit chilly but it won't last long much longer. When is the warmer weather going to reach us?

Winter is officially upon us despite not reaching that point yet on the calendar. Cold weather and snow has already made its way to Upstate New York leaving some areas buried in a few feet of snow, while dumping large amounts of rain on other parts of the state.

Snow has certainly made a great first impression here in New York in November and December, but are we done with warm weather for the foreseeable future? It looks like next week we could get another glimpse of fall/spring before leaping feet first into that wintery cold.

According to Accuweather we could see a little snow around parts of the Capital Region on Monday before things warm up for midweek. Temperatures in the area could reach into the 50s on Tuesday, but with that warm weather also come more rain. This are has seen an incredible amount of rain in the last few days.

Areas around the Capital Region had as much as 3 inches of rain. Thankfully that wasn't snow or we would have all been getting the snowblowers out.

While it is cold right now just be patient and it looks like things will warm up. Also those of you asking for a white Christmas may be in luck. This warm weather has also increased New York's chances at that coveted wintery magic for the holiday.

Maybe don't put away the shorts just yet, but also make sure that your winter equipment is ready to go. The weather in New York is certainly unpredictable.
